Roberto Firmino

Firmino gave Liverpool's front three a centre-forward who could start the press without simply racing at the goalkeeper. In Klopp's 2017/18 side, the high press worked through the timing of Firmino's movement and the positions of Mané and Salah on either side. Study the angle of his first run: closing a passing lane can make a hurried ball to a full-back more valuable than a tackle on the centre-back.
