A fingerprint can become a person, an address and eventually a case you can submit. Its simulated city gives you records, witnesses, surveillance and a case board to organise connections, with the route from crime scene to suspect largely yours to choose. That freedom is the attraction, along with plenty of sneaking and trespassing. Procedural cases and rough edges make it less tightly authored than the puzzle-box mysteries on this list.
