Heartstopper, Volume 1 (2018)

Expressive faces and small pauses do much of the talking as schoolmates Charlie and Nick become friends and begin to recognise a stronger connection. The clear panels make it welcoming if you are new to comics, while the affection builds through ordinary interactions. This is the beginning of a continuing teen romance, not a complete relationship arc. Bullying, homophobia and an emotionally abusive relationship also feature.
