Fallout: New Vegas (2010)

A character's knowledge can become leverage in a conversation, with skills opening arguments that a purely combat-focused courier would miss. Faction interests and earlier decisions give those checks a useful setting beyond winning an isolated exchange. This is the original 2010 game, with dated combat and technical roughness. Many situations offer satisfying alternatives to shooting, but a persuasive build is not a promise that every hostile creature or quest will negotiate.
