Pillars of Eternity (2015)

Durance's abrasive faith makes an effective counterweight to Edér's more approachable doubts. Neither is simply there to validate the Watcher, and their personal conversations give the setting's religious arguments an uncomfortable human scale. Follow up after resting and story developments. Dense prose and real-time battles ask for a patient pace.
