Small damage numbers make the effect of an attack, defence or badge easy to understand. The 2024 remake adds a Battle Master for practising action commands, and some badges make their timing more forgiving. Choose it for a witty, tactile introduction to turn-based choices, with just Mario and one partner active at a time. It has no simple easy-mode switch, and backtracking can test your patience between the strongest chapters.
