Most abilities need recharging before you can use them again, so your strongest move cannot simply become every turn. Planning around that reset and a character's Hyper turns creates short, satisfying sequences of set-up and release. Preset encounters keep the combat connected to its science-fiction adventure. This is a good option when you want a relatively compact RPG whose decisions come from ability timing rather than hours spent expanding a job catalogue.
