Torment: Tides of Numenera (2017)

The Ninth World treats the remnants of unimaginably advanced civilisations as everyday mystery. That science-fantasy premise gives its settlements, objects and moral problems a different texture from a kingdom waiting for a chosen hero. Follow conversations and investigate strange devices rather than rushing towards fights. This is a dense, text-led adventure, not a brisk action RPG.
