A fixed camera can make an unfamiliar corridor hard to read, so spending ammunition to secure a frequently used route is a meaningful decision. Healing and save recordings give exploration a cost beyond solving the next intricate puzzle. Light is also practical protection, not merely atmosphere. Choose it for old-style survival horror with demanding navigation and backtracking. Keep several saves and learn the map before spending everything on an optional-looking fight; its conventions are less forgiving than a modern action campaign.
