Create a Custom game if hunger, thirst, equipment wear or recovery penalties are the parts you want to reduce. That lets the backyard's laboratories, building projects and creature encounters remain interesting without requiring the standard upkeep loop. These are chosen settings, not the default experience. The completed original has a long adventure and a more established set of options than its sequel. Choose it for a small-scale world that can still deliver very large fights, even after you make maintenance easier.
