Soma (2015)

A deteriorating underwater facility makes every unfamiliar sound feel consequential, while the story gives that unease somewhere lasting to go. Sudden encounters still occur, but anticipation and disturbing questions do most of the work. Safe Mode prevents monsters from killing you, leaving the setting and story intact. Choose it for oppressive science-fiction dread, with body horror and distressing medical imagery still part of the experience.
