The Mastermind (2025)
Movie
Released
An amateur art thief imagines that removing paintings will also remove the frustrations of his ordinary life. Kelly Reichardt makes small practical failures and the awkward aftermath more revealing than a triumphant reveal. This 2025 choice is deliberately unglamorous: a plan can be audacious in its owner's head and painfully inadequate in the world.
