Kerbal Space Program (2015)

A rocket that folds on the launchpad provides a very clear review of your bracing, staging and enthusiasm for extra boosters. The original game offers a wonderfully rich build-and-test loop, but orbital flight is a serious learning project. Start in Sandbox and keep flight reversion enabled while experimenting. Save before bigger missions: a failed landing can otherwise cost far more time than a quick comic explosion suggests.
