Composition, alignment and scale become ways to connect illustrated scenes, so looking closely has a physical consequence. Each new arrangement makes the drawing feel less like a picture and more like a place with unexpected possibilities. It is a lovely alternative to steering a first-person camera, though the fine detail still asks for patient visual searching.
