Crusader Kings III (2020)
Game
Released
A lost crown can leave a dynasty with a smaller title, awkward relatives and a wonderfully specific reason to start scheming. Succession and marriage keep creating opportunities even when a ruler's grand plan falls apart. The important limit is a valid playable continuation: the base game cannot rescue every completely dispossessed family, and losing an eligible heir can end it. Let a surviving count's ambitions matter as much as an emperor's, rather than treating every reduced border as a ruined campaign.
