Demon's Souls (2020)

The 2020 remake keeps the consequential walk from a safe point into a place you do not yet understand. Enemy positions, route knowledge and the decision to risk carried souls remain more important than simply having a prettier attack animation. That continuity lets the original's awkward, memorable encounters retain their purpose. Its new art direction and sound do change the atmosphere, and old combat quirks remain. Recommend it for the preserved structure of risk and discovery, not as an identical substitute for the 2009 presentation.
