Riven (2024)

The 2024 remake preserves the idea that understanding a place is the puzzle. Architecture, sounds and cultural details matter because they belong to a functioning world, not because a detached puzzle panel announces itself. Free movement makes those relationships easier to inspect, while revised puzzles give returning players something to investigate afresh. It is not a route for following every solution from the 1997 version. The essential continuity is the patient work of observation and interpretation, with plenty of room to remain confused.
