A kingdom offers several scales of ambition, from finding one visible moon to exploring a whole unfamiliar neighbourhood. That makes it easy to adjust the session to the length of the next leg. The original Switch game's solo exploration is the recommendation; connected rankings and Balloon World are extras rather than the reason to bring it. Some movement challenges need a steady grip, and handheld controls feel different from freely separated Joy-Con. You can enjoy a great deal without chasing every demanding post-game moon.
