Huesera: The Bone Woman (2023)
Movie
Released
Valeria's expected happiness about pregnancy becomes a role her body seems unable to inhabit peacefully. Michelle Garza Cervera makes cracking sounds and distorted physical shapes express a conflict that social congratulations keep concealing. The queer history and the present domestic arrangement both matter. A sharply embodied choice about imposed expectations, with pregnancy distress and intense bodily threat.
