Saint Maud (2020)
Movie
Released
Maud's desire to save her patient makes care and control increasingly difficult to separate. Rose Glass restricts our access to a lonely nurse's experience, letting tiny bodily sensations acquire enormous spiritual significance. A compact choice for religious obsession and uncomfortable uncertainty, with self-harm and a severe final impact. Its 2019 festival premiere preceded the later cinema releases.

When a chance encounter with a former colleague throws up hints of a dark past, it becomes clear there is more to sweet Maud than meets the eye.
