The dry (2016)

Aaron Falk returns to a drought-stricken town after a family’s deaths, and the investigation pulls him towards an older secret. Heat and suspicion make the place feel enclosing without requiring a complicated invented world. This is the weekend choice for a strong mystery engine and a landscape that matters to the plot. The violence includes the death of a child.
