Arena mode is the clearest place to begin if thinking time matters: assemble and reorder the team without a timer, then let it fight another player's saved line-up. Position, buying decisions and ability combinations make a small team surprisingly expressive. It is asynchronous competition rather than a live duel with the same opponent across a whole session. Start with a standard pack. Versus mode is a separate, quicker experience and should not be mistaken for the untimed Arena.
