Silo (2023)

Rebecca Ferguson supplies a practical, stubborn centre to a mystery about people living underground under rules they are discouraged from questioning. The huge stairways, machinery and unequal levels make the setting feel like a society rather than a backdrop. Pick it for the combination of investigation and institutional secrecy. It takes its time disclosing the larger picture, so the immediate attraction needs to be the people and politics inside the silo.
