Slow Horses (2022)

Gary Oldman's Jackson Lamb makes the shabby corner of MI5 feel more alive than most glamorous spy headquarters. His sidelined agents bicker, misjudge people and still have to stop dangerous operations. The attraction is the combination of sharp insults, compact plotting and genuine consequences: the jokes never make the danger feel harmless. A strong first choice if you want momentum without the solemnity of a prestige thriller.
