Ted Lasso (2020)

The American coach who knows little about English football wins his place here through the people around him: a guarded club owner, bruised players and colleagues learning to be less defensive. The sporting results matter less than the pleasure of watching that ensemble become a community. Some stretches lean heavily into sentiment, but this remains an inviting starting point for someone who wants warmth rather than another bleak mystery.
