Pluribus (2025)

Rhea Seehorn gives this unnerving science-fiction story its difficult, funny centre: a woman resisting a world in which happiness comes at the expense of individuality. Vince Gilligan makes ordinary spaces feel newly suspicious, with the pleasure coming from watching Carol test what this transformed society can and cannot do. It is patient, sometimes very patient, but a rewarding pick for viewers who want an original idea to argue about afterwards.
