Mega Man 2 (1989)

Choosing a robot master's stage and turning the defeated boss's weapon against another still gives the platforming a satisfying sense of discovery. Mega Man Legacy Collection is an accessible way to play the NES game; its modern saving aids are conveniences around the old stages. Expect knockback, disappearing platforms and boss weaknesses that reward experimentation. For the international version, Normal is the kinder introduction; Difficult is closer to the original Japanese challenge.
