Chuckie Egg (1983)

Collecting the eggs in one screen while avoiding hens remains a wonderfully clear assignment. The BBC Micro version is a good choice for its flowing jumps and ladder movement; the Spectrum original has its own timing and handling, so memories of one do not automatically transfer to the other. Expect repeated layouts with escalating danger and no forgiving modern checkpoint trail. This is a legacy-computer recommendation, not a claim that the newer Chuckie Egg-branded games reproduce it exactly.
