Super Metroid (1994)
Game
Released
New movement abilities make old rooms become interesting again, so revisiting the map feels like gaining understanding rather than merely repeating a corridor. Choose the SNES original through Nintendo's Classics library and spend a moment configuring its controls. Its separate run button, equipment selection and wall-jump timing take more adjustment than modern descendants. There is no permanent objective arrow to carry you through; that uncertainty is part of the exploration, and a manual is useful company.
