Choose Survival mode for long stretches of snow, wind and your own movement, with occasional music and character remarks. A distant animal or a change in weather has room to matter when staying alive depends on reading the surroundings. This is exposed, sometimes punishing solitude; the dialogue-led Wintermute story is a different proposition.
