Quake II (2023)

The enhanced 2023 edition adds an optional compass that draws a route towards the next objective, a genuinely useful aid in the old industrial complexes. A larger alternate typeface and higher-contrast text can make the menus easier to read too. Select this release rather than Quake II RTX, which is a different presentation project. The remaster also changes enemy behaviour and adds content, so it is not an untouched museum copy. The compass helps navigation without removing the need to manage health and read a fight.
