Hyper Light Drifter (2016)

Colour and silhouette do much of the work that another adventure would hand to paragraphs of explanation. Ruins, huge remains and brief illustrated exchanges suggest a history you have to assemble for yourself. In a fight, the small Drifter's dash and sword trails become sharply defined movements across those rich spaces. The visual language supports both reading a dangerous instant and wondering what happened centuries earlier.
