Disco Elysium: The Final Cut (2021)

ZA/UM moves the weight of an RPG into conversation, investigation and arguments between parts of your own mind. Investing in a skill can give that inner voice more to say, not simply make you more competent. The fully voiced Final Cut is a useful starting edition. Its political density, addiction themes and long conversations suit a reader willing to let embarrassment and uncertainty remain part of a detective story.
