What Remains of Edith Finch (2017)

Preserved bedrooms feel like family-curated exhibits, each with its own way into a playable account of a life. The objects and architecture establish how someone has been remembered before that account begins. I would keep a distinction between a story the family tells and an unquestionable explanation of every event. The pleasure lies partly in noticing how the house supports, frames and sometimes unsettles those stories.
