Jafar Panahi gives a chance encounter a gripping moral question: how certain must someone be before acting on a suspected tormentor's identity? The mainly Persian-language 2025 thriller makes its immediate stakes clear, with unexpected humour complicating the tension. Torture and persecution are central even when much of the past remains in testimony.
