Good Bye, Lenin! (2003)
Movie

A son's effort to protect his mother from sudden political change turns recent German history into an intelligible family problem. The comedy makes objects and television images carry the story, so little specialist knowledge is needed. Its German-language mixture of affection and satire works best when you allow nostalgia and critique to coexist.
