Wadjda (2012)
Movie

A Saudi schoolgirl wants a bicycle, and the rules around earning one make that small wish dramatically substantial. Arabic dialogue sits beside highly readable practical tasks and family negotiations. Haifaa al-Mansour's film is an especially inviting choice if you like determined children whose personalities remain mischievous rather than saintly.
