The Lunchbox (2013)
Movie
Released
A misdelivered meal gives two lonely people a practical way to begin writing to one another. Hindi, with English and other language use, belongs to the texture of Mumbai rather than an obstacle to the story. The recurring exchange makes a gentle, accessible entry point, with no promise that connection automatically solves their lives.

About The Lunchbox
A mistaken delivery in Mumbai's famously efficient lunchbox delivery system (Mumbai's Dabbawallahs) connects a young housewife to a stranger in the dusk of his life. They build a fantasy world together through notes in the lunchbox. Gradually, this fantasy threatens to overwhelm their reality.
