Outer Wilds (2019)

Andrew Prahlow gives a space-exploration mystery the intimacy of a campfire, with plucked strings beside much wider electronic textures. Pair Timber Hearth with Nomai Ruins before the larger emotional sweep of Travelers. The original soundtrack works as a sequence of small human sounds opening into something vast. During play, locating the travellers adds a spatial meaning that the album cannot reproduce.
