Disco Elysium (2019)

Sea Power's melancholy guitars, brass and spacious arrangements make this detective RPG sound like a city remembering better days. Instrument of Surrender and Red Rock Riviera offer a useful route into that mood without needing the dialogue. The album rewards a complete evening's listen: the quieter material is as important as its grander swells. The band was still called British Sea Power when the original game appeared.
