The Sense of an Ending (2011)

Tony Webster has a workable account of his youth until new information makes it less comfortable. The compact novel is particularly useful for comparing passages people initially accepted with those they later questioned. Discussion can remain open about responsibility and interpretation while still examining the specific evasions a narrator uses. Suicide and painful family history are important concerns.
