Sethian (2016)

The surviving source is a computer that only communicates in a lost alien language. Using its grammar, vocabulary and your character's supplied journal, you learn how to ask questions that expose more of the vanished society's thinking. This is a compact, demanding linguistic investigation rather than a freeform conversation: the parser expects particular constructions, and the journal provides more interpretation than a blank notebook would.
