AE: Archeological Expedition (2026)

An excavation game with a concrete choice between speed and preservation: a brush protects fragile finds, while faster tools risk damage as time and weather press in. Its artefact journal gives the objects context beyond their sale value. This recent release is worth trying through its demo first, particularly for that careful-tool loop. Its sites and objects draw on real finds, but the simplified digging is not training in archaeological practice.
