The hours (1998)
Book
Published
Three women in different times experience ordinary domestic arrangements as quite different kinds of demand. Moving between the writer Virginia Woolf, a reader and a contemporary host creates echoes without making their lives interchangeable. These are distinct close perspectives within a shaped third-person narrative. It is a compact but emotionally concentrated choice about care, desire and the lives people cannot easily explain; suicidal crisis and loss are central.
