Straight Man (1997)

Hank Devereaux’s temporary role as department chair turns uncertainty about the budget into a test of every relationship around him. Russo understands how a rumour about cuts can reorganise a room before any formal decision arrives. The comedy is broad, but jobs and dignity remain in play. Choose it for the familiar administrative problem of being held responsible for a decision when nobody will give you reliable information.
