Spelunky 2 (2020)

Mounts, interacting liquids and passages between front and back layers give Spelunky's chain reactions more ways to surprise you. Against the 2012 version of the first game, the sequel feels richer because familiar rules collide in unfamiliar arrangements. It is also denser and more demanding: an improvement for someone hungry for systemic trouble, not automatically the friendliest introduction.
