Tove often progresses by understanding what a creature needs rather than treating it as an enemy to kill. Scandinavian folklore inspires the trolls, wilderness beings and atmosphere, but Polygon Treehouse builds its own family story and versions of those figures. Inventory puzzles and a helpful journal make curiosity the useful skill. It offers a more welcoming entry than the horror games here, although grief, danger and some backtracking remain part of the journey.
