Katamari Damacy Reroll (2018)

Rolling a small ball into an increasingly absurd collection of objects is a remarkably complete comic idea. Changes in scale make yesterday's obstacle today's material, and the songs turn the escalating nonsense into an occasion. Reroll brings the 2004 original's distinctive appeal to newer platforms, which helps explain the affection that outlasted its modest-looking premise. Twin-stick rolling takes adjustment and many stages are timed. Start for the tactile joke and sense of scale, with no need to know the King's most quoted lines.
