The Spellshop (2024)

A librarian fleeing upheaval tries to make a livelihood on an island, where sharing useful magic means breaking rules about who may possess it. The shop matters because services and trust have to be built together. Its jam, plants and neighbourly help support actual decisions about hoarding knowledge and accepting assistance. There is danger from the wider political world, but the centre of gravity remains the community being made.
