The Palace Job (Rogues of the Republic) (2012)

Loch wants an elven manuscript back from the powerful man who took it, and a floating fortress demands more than one talented burglar. Her recruits include an illusionist, a unicorn, a death priestess and a talking warhammer. Weekes makes the extravagance part of the teamwork: each unlikely presence changes what a plan can attempt. Choose it for a comic caper whose group is as much an attraction as the vault, and the start of Rogues of the Republic.
